Myrtle, The Steam Engine

Myrtle was created by local man, Gordon Johnson.

Its inspiration was to raise funds for research into degenerative diseases. Gordon carefully selected the components to make this train, including a copper boiler, a metal cooking pot, brass curtain rails and two big wheels at the rear of the piece were taken from farm machinery.

Myrtle is now based at The Buttermarket, in its own unique display.
